Karen Adamsbaum, CIC
Karen is a partner of the John Morgan McLachlan Agency, Inc. which offers commercial, personal, excess & surplus/specialty insurance lines, claims management, strategic partnerships and member solutions. She has over 17 years of management and hands-on experience in all phases of Risk Management, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Technology. In 2012, Karen received became a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and is currently studying to obtain her Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), and Accredited Advisor of Insurance Management (AAIM) designations. She is a member of the Public Panel for District XIII Ethics Committee for Attorneys and serves on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Builders and Contractors Association.

Eric is a commercial litigator at Norris McLaughlin where he handles high-stakes, complex litigation matters in both state and federal court. He represents businesses of all shapes and sizes - from closely-held partnerships to international corporations - as well as individuals, in a wide range of litigation matters, including general commercial litigation, consumer fraud, partnership/shareholder disputes, products liability, and mass tort litigation. For his clients in the cannabis industry, Eric advises on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relating to production, research, and testing of cannabis and cannabis-derived products such as cannabidiol (“CBD”).
An attorney in Norris McLaughlin's Litigation group, Andrew brings his experience of representing clients in highly regulated industries to the firm’s Cannabis Law Group as its Co-Chair. He assists marijuana entrepreneurs, suppliers, growers, retailers, and investors with navigating complex statutory and regulatory schemes, including those related to permitting and licensing (such as initial applications, transfers, expansions, changes to ownership, and related disclosures), distribution, and general business operations (such as sales, storage of product, and recordkeeping). Andrew regularly assists clients in all tiers of the distribution chain regarding compliance and business law issues.
A Senior Vice President and Broker with Socius Insurance Services, Rodney started his insurance career in 1997 with Auto-Owners Insurance Company. He began working as a personal lines underwriter then quickly moved over to commercial lines. Shortly thereafter, Rodney was promoted to Underwriting Manager where he managed the underwriting division in both Illinois and Missouri. Subsequently Auto-Owners moved him to Chicago to become the regional Marketing
Representative for the Metropolitan Chicagoland area. In 2004 Rodney joined Socius Insurance Agency and established the first office in the Midwest. Since opening that office, the Midwest operation has grown to two locations and over $50M in written premium, with a focus on Casualty Property and Management Liability.
Principal and Owner of New Ventures Consulting, LLC, Jack is a risk advisor and insurance consultant specializing in and committed to bringing the traditional business function of risk management to new entrepreneurs in today’s leading edge and trending businesses, including within the Cannabis industry. Prior to starting his own consultancy, Jack spent 14 years as a client advisor/broker for one of the world’s largest insurance brokerage and risk management firms (Marsh USA) where he served clients ranging from startups to multi-billion dollar corporations. A respected leader by employers, colleagues, and clients, he was also recognized by the risk and insurance industry as a Power Broker in 2015.
Stephanie Spangler, Esq.
Stephanie is an attorney in Norris McLaughlin's Intellectual Property group and is co-Chair of the firm's Cannabis Law group. She dedicates her practice to trademark and copyright matters, representing clients from startups to Fortune 100 companies in a variety of industries, including technology, food and beverage, e-commerce, apparel, entertainment, jewelry, video games, film, and arts and cannabis. Stephanie routinely represents clients in cases involving trademark and copyright infringement, false advertising, trade secret misappropriation, commercial disparagement, business torts, deceptive trade practices, Lanham Act claims, state and federal unfair competition laws, and other business disputes.
Charlie Sturm, RPLU
Charlie is a registered professional liability underwriter with Socius Insurance Services, where he spearheads the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast operations and contributes to Socius expertise placing complex Management, Cyber, and Professional Liability risks, as Socius now underwrites $265 million in premium, with over $200 million in D&O, EPLI, Cyber, and E&O coverage. He is also responsible for introducing healthcare expertise to the company's national portfolio, which he gained skill at while working for United States Liability Group's Berkshire Hathaway partner wholesaler insurance broker, where he was the Healthcare Product Leader and managed the company's healthcare product line for seven years. Charlie's expertise comprises of all classes in the Healthcare industry – including Medical Facilities, Hospitals, Home Healthcare, Pharmacies, Cannabis, Substance Abuse Facilities, Urgent Care Centers, Blood /Tissue Banks, Medical Transport, Medical Spas, and Long Term Care.
